The 6-Day Adventure Itinerary
Day 1 - Sarajevo from Above
History, hills, and your first taste of Bosnia
Your journey begins in Sarajevo, a city where East meets West and history is not read about - it’s felt. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll walk through the Old Town and surrounding neighborhoods, hearing personal stories that bring Sarajevo’s complex past and resilient spirit to life in a way no guidebook ever could.
From the city streets, you’ll transition straight into nature, hiking up Mt. Trebević, the mountain that watches over Sarajevo. As the city slowly falls away beneath you, the views open up to sweeping panoramas - red rooftops, minarets, church spires, and mountains layered into the horizon. At the top, you’ll enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch, taking in one of the most iconic viewpoints in the country.
In the afternoon, descend back into the city by cable car or on foot, watching Sarajevo reappear below you from a completely different perspective. The day ends with a welcoming dinner at a traditional Bosnian restaurant - your first shared meal, your first stories around the table, and the moment the group truly comes together.
This day sets the tone for the week ahead: movement, meaning, and connection - all without rushing, and with every detail taken care of.
Day 2 - Into the Dinaric Highlands
Remote villages, wide-open landscapes, and timeless mountain life
The day begins gently, with an optional morning stretch or yoga session to wake up your body before heading into the mountains. After breakfast, we leave the city behind and drive into the highlands of the Dinaric Alps, where paved roads give way to open plateaus and dramatic scenery.
From the village of Umoljani, you’ll hike through sweeping mountain landscapes toward Lukomir, Bosnia & Herzegovina’s highest and most remote village. Along the trail, you’ll pass shepherd paths, stone houses, and wide-open views that feel unchanged for generations. A simple burek break along the way offers a taste of everyday mountain life - warm, comforting, and deeply local.
Arriving in Lukomir feels like stepping back in time. Perched on the edge of a dramatic canyon, the village is known for its traditional stone homes, handmade clothing, and quiet rhythm of life. You’ll enjoy a homemade lunch prepared with local ingredients, shared slowly and without ceremony - just honest food in an extraordinary place.
In the afternoon, we descend from the highlands and transfer to Konjic, where the pace softens. The evening is intentionally unstructured, giving you space to rest, wander, or simply reflect on the contrast between ancient mountain life and the modern world.
This day isn’t about distance or speed - it’s about perspective, simplicity, and the rare experience of being welcomed into a place that still lives by its own rules.
Day 3 - River, History & Home
Wild water, hidden stories, and a table set just for us
The morning starts unhurried, with an optional stretch to ease into the day. Those interested can visit Tito’s Cold War bunker, a fascinating underground time capsule that reveals a rarely seen chapter of Yugoslav history - an unexpected contrast to the natural landscapes that follow.
From there, we head to the Neretva River, known for its striking emerald color and crystal-clear water. Accompanied by professional river guides, you’ll spend the next few hours rafting through a dramatic canyon, navigating gentle rapids, calm stretches, and hidden river bends. It’s an exhilarating experience, made approachable and safe for both first-timers and experienced adventurers.
After the river, we slow things down with a relaxed picnic by the water - time to dry off, laugh, and take in the stillness that follows the rush of the rapids.
The day concludes with something truly special: dinner at a local family’s home. This isn’t a restaurant or a staged experience - it’s a real evening shared around a table with people who have become friends. Expect home-cooked dishes, seasonal ingredients, stories, and warmth that no hotel dining room could ever replicate.
This is often the moment guests talk about long after the trip ends - not just what they did, but how deeply connected they felt.
Day 4 - From Forested Ascent to Iconic Mostar
A rewarding climb, wide-open views, and timeless streets
The day begins with a drive into Diva Grabovica, a remote and rarely visited valley deep in Herzegovina. From here, the hike starts with a steady ascent, gaining elevation as the trail winds uphill through dense forest. The shaded path offers welcome relief on warm summer days, allowing you to move comfortably while gradually climbing above the valley floor.
As you rise higher, the landscape begins to open. Trees thin, the air feels lighter, and expansive views of Diva Grabovica unfold beneath you - dramatic limestone walls, winding riverbeds, and vast open space stretching in every direction. The effort of the climb is rewarded with a powerful sense of perspective and quiet accomplishment.
After taking time to rest, enjoy the views, and refuel with lunch, we descend and transition from the wilderness to culture with a scenic drive to Mostar. After hotel check-in, a guided walking tour introduces the city’s layered history and iconic Old Bridge, before ending the day with dinner at a traditional Bosnian restaurant.
This day is about contrast and payoff - moving upward through forest and effort, opening into wide views, then easing back into the rhythm of one of Bosnia & Herzegovina’s most beautiful cities.
Day 5 - Sacred Springs & Farewell Feast
A hike through history and landscape, ending with connection
The day begins gently, with an optional morning yoga or stretch at the hotel, helping your body prepare for the final adventure. From there, we drive to Blagaj Tekke, a site where nature, history, and spirituality converge. Here, the Tekke monastery sits at the base of a cliff, beside the spring of the emerald Buna River - a serene and almost magical setting that feels untouched by time.
From Blagaj, the hike begins. You’ll follow a trail that gains elevation steadily, winding through shaded forests that protect you from the summer sun. As the canopy opens, sweeping views of the river, cliffs, and surrounding valleys emerge - making every step of the climb feel worth it. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the area’s natural history and cultural significance, bringing the landscape alive.
After completing the hike, we pause to enjoy a well-deserved lunch, taking in the views one last time before returning to the hotel. The afternoon is yours to relax, reflect, or explore at your own pace.
As evening arrives, we gather for a farewell dinner at a beloved local spot, where fresh, traditional Bosnian dishes mark the final shared meal of the journey. It’s a time to celebrate new friendships, recount favorite moments, and savor the full experience of Bosnia - from mountains to rivers to cities.
This day balances movement, discovery, and reflection, leaving you with a deep sense of accomplishment and connection before the journey comes to a close.
Day 6 - Craft, Culture & Doviđenja
Hands-on memories and a gentle farewell
Your final morning begins at a relaxed pace, with time to stretch, sip coffee, and soak in Sarajevo one last time. The highlight of the day is a copper handicraft workshop, where you’ll create your own keepsake under the guidance of skilled local artisans. From shaping metal to adding your personal touch, this hands-on experience lets you take home more than a souvenir - it’s a piece of Bosnia you helped craft yourself.
After the workshop, there’s a final chance to walk the streets of Sarajevo, reflect on your journey, and savor the city’s unique rhythm. When it’s time to depart, private transfers and luggage support ensure your journey home is smooth and stress-free - just like the trip itself.
This day brings the adventure full circle: movement, culture, creativity, and meaningful closure. You leave with memories, friendships, and a deeper connection to Bosnia & Herzegovina - without having worried about a single logistical detail along the way.
